Legend has it that the Moorish inhabi- tants of Vall del Pop passed in front of the cave of the ivy to go into the mountain by the badall to climb the rock altar and from there go to the Castell de Guadalest where they were also resisting the siege of the Christians.

In this cave they could feel safe since the ivy covered the entrance and from there they could see all the movements of the Christian troops.

After the expulsion, when the village of Benigembla was repopulated by the Ba- learic Islanders, this cave became a place where the white goats, of which there were many at that time, spent the night.
